MOURNING BELOVETH Issues Update

August 8, 2008

Irish doom titans MOURNING BELOVETH have issued the following update:

"As you know by now, the tour we had planned for March had to be cancelled and those who know us know the reasons why but we will not go in to them here. For a band who has never cancelled a gig, let alone a tour it was a big decision but one that had to be made.

"The next few months should see us make up for that in some small way with a few festival dates followed by a gig in Greece in October. The festival dates will see us play for the first time in Lithuania at Ferrum Rust fest and the Facade of Funeral fest in Belgium, both in September. We played Day of Darkness in Ireland for a record-breaking fourth time in July and the first airing of the new songs and it was one of our tightest performances in a long time.

"The ['A Disease for the Ages'] album was finally released after months of agonising wait with delays in the artwork to label delays but it is finally out and that is all that matters. Reviews for the album have been overwhelming and far beyond our expectations and hopefully this will open the door for a few more festival appearences next year. Also coming soon is the LP version of 'Dust' to be released through Sentinel Records. It is the original artwork, nothing added, nothing taken away. We also have a split 10" with WRECK OF THE HESPERUS planned on Sentinel by the end of the year and we are rehearsing something special for this release."

MOURNING BELOVETH's fourth album, "A Disease for the Ages", is the group's first to feature bass player Brendan Roche. Recording sessions were held over two weeks at Studio E with Markus Stock at the helm.

Commented the band: "Sound-wise the album is similar to 'A Murderous Circus' but two extra guitar tracks this time has beefed the rhythm creating a huge wall of sound. Musically the songs are very direct and we have cut off the flab that appeared on 'A Murderous Circus'. Combining the organic feel of 'Dust' with the density of 'The Sullen Sulcus' and some of the experimentation of 'A Murderous Circus' along with an aggressive undertone only hinted at previously we feel we have come up with the sound track for our deconstruction."
